5 Tips To Running Your Business When You’re Sick AF

Your business starts and ends with you. With being an entrepreneur, you must take care of YOUR well-being! So take a cough-drop and read on.

For the love of God, go drink a glass of water.

Tip #1 is to stop for a moment. If you can’t take a step back and pause for your health, how well will your business thrive? Make sure to take time for yourself. But don’t worry, you’ll still get work done!

Go back to the basics. Pencil and paper.

For the days when you can’t get out of bed, whip out a pencil + paper and write down some to-dos, people to contact, emails to send, all that jazz. Or, voice-memo everything for later. I start blog posts in bed and finish them when I’m better.

Have a team? Things can still get done when the workload is shared. Don’t have a team? Ask for help. Remember to trust in your people to do what you need them to do. The best thing you can do for them and yourself is to get better.

Low Maintenance Work

If you can get out of bed, that’s great! Focus on something that won’t take too much energy. Write a blog post, research your next collection, create some mood boards for next season. Work done at 70% power can still be 100% rewarding.

Slow the f*** down!

I was sick af and was not needing to work at 110% when I could barely do 50%. And that’s okay. It’s hard when you’re trying to create something, but slow down. You’ve put in the hard work and now it’s time to rest for a moment. Rome didn’t fall in a day and neither will you.
